Rustam Khabibullin, the head of the Russian Business Center in Afghanistan, has proposed abolishing the visa regime between Moscow and Kabul. He stated that removing visa restrictions would significantly facilitate economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

Speaking ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Khabibullin noted that relations between Moscow and the Taliban government are expanding rapidly. He highlighted recent diplomatic milestones, including Vladimir Putin accepting the credentials of the Afghan ambassador and the signing of military-technical agreements.

Khabibullin emphasized that Russian companies are actively involved in Afghanistan's oil and mining sectors. A visa-free travel system would greatly boost business interactions, simplify trade logistics, and help open new lucrative markets for both countries.
