The state oil and gas company of the Taliban government announced a reduction in liquefied gas prices at its official sales centers in Herat province. The price per kilogram has dropped from sixty to fifty-five Afghanis.
This relief measure comes shortly after gas prices experienced a significant and sudden spike in the open market over recent days. The unexpected price hike had caused considerable financial concern among local citizens.
To ensure better access for the public, local officials confirmed they are expanding their distribution network. The number of state-run gas sales centers in Herat has now been increased from five to nine branches.
