Sources close to Ahmad Saeem Hazim's family have confirmed that he was arrested by Taliban intelligence forces in Kabul. He was detained along with five colleagues from their office and taken to an undisclosed location.
The 33-year-old Hazim worked at the Women and Children Rights Research Foundation and is the father of two young kids. His desperate family remains deeply concerned, as they have had absolutely no contact with him for six days.
The research foundation, led by international award winner Zarqa Yaftali, actively works on advocacy and education for vulnerable women. The Taliban government authorities have not yet provided any explanation regarding the identities of the other detainees or the reasons for the arrests.
