Doctors Without Borders has tragically reported that an Afghan migrant woman in Pakistan miscarried her child following a sudden police raid on her home. This heartbreaking incident occurred entirely due to severe fear and acute stress caused by her husband's unexpected arrest.
The woman's husband was forcefully detained by the police despite holding a completely legal residency card. He stated that due to the extreme fear of being arrested again, he couldn't take his wife to the hospital in time, resulting in the loss of their three-month-old baby.
The organization has urgently requested the Pakistani government to immediately halt the forced deportation process of Afghan migrants. Forced deportations and the constant fear of arrest have entirely deprived many vulnerable migrants of essential health services and livelihoods.
