The Taliban's Ministry of Refugees announced that 325 people were released from various Pakistani prisons this week and returned to Afghanistan. The returnees included women and children, with 156 entering through the Torkham crossing and 169 through Spin Boldak.

This return comes as the Pakistani government recently ordered its police to detain and forcibly deport Afghans whose residency documents have expired or who lack such documents entirely. This policy has placed enormous pressure on Afghan migrants living in Pakistan.

The forced deportation of Afghans from Pakistan has intensified in recent months, raising serious concerns about the situation of Afghan migrants. International organizations have called for humane treatment of these displaced people.
