The "United Front of Afghanistan" announced it had killed a Taliban intelligence officer in Kandahar who was involved in the arrest, torture, and killing of former security personnel.
The group said the Taliban member was targeted around 3:30 PM on Thursday in the 5th district of Kandahar city. The United Front stressed that this intelligence officer had played a direct role in detaining, torturing, and killing numerous former Afghan security forces.
The same group had also reported an attack on the entrance of the Taliban's 205th Al-Badr Corps in Kandahar on Tuesday night, claiming five Taliban killed and three wounded. The Taliban have not commented on either incident.
