A traffic accident in the Qabr Kliner area of South Salang in Parwan province claimed two lives and left three others injured. The Taliban police command in Parwan confirmed the incident occurred around midnight.
According to the police statement, the accident was caused by the rollover of a Toyota Corolla. The passengers were residents of Takhar, Baghlan, and Helmand provinces.
The incident once again highlighted concerns about road conditions and traffic safety on Afghanistan's mountain routes. Local authorities have not yet released further details about the victims.
