The Taliban's Ministry of Justice announced that its special court for seized land cases in the northern zone has ruled that 10,000 jeribs of land in Nahri Shahi district of Balkh province belong to the emirate. The land is located in the Mominabad area.
The ministry stated that the court reached its decision after thoroughly reviewing ownership documents, property records, and information from relevant agencies. Under the ruling, current occupants must hand over the land to the anti-land-grabbing commission.
Since retaking Afghanistan, the Taliban have declared hundreds of thousands of jeribs of land as state property across various provinces. Landowners say they hold valid legal documents, but Taliban courts have largely ignored their claims.
