Daniel Driscoll, the US Army Secretary, has submitted his resignation to the White House after approximately 18 months in office. Military Times reported that the White House has confirmed the resignation.

Driscoll's departure follows months of tension with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the Army's future direction and the dismissal of senior commanders. He was reportedly caught off guard by the firing of General Randy George in April 2025.

With Driscoll's exit, the US Army will be left without a Senate-confirmed secretary and without a permanent chief of staff. The White House praised him as "highly effective" in advancing Trump's agenda.
