Following recent Pakistani airstrikes in Kunar and Helmand provinces, Sami Sadat, the leader of the United Front of Afghanistan, stated that the Taliban government is exposing the Afghan people to retaliatory attacks by sheltering armed groups. He argued that the Taliban allows these militants to operate from within civilian communities, creating immense risk.

In a post on the social media platform X on Thursday, Mr. Sadat wrote, "The Taliban is responsible for turning Afghanistan into a haven for terrorist groups." He emphasized that the people of Afghanistan should not have to pay the price for the Taliban's support of terrorists. These comments come amid rising tensions and cross-border attacks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

At the same time, the leader of the United Front stressed that Pakistan is also responsible for its military actions and must be held accountable. According to Sadat, the presence of armed individuals can never justify "indiscriminate attacks or the killing of civilians," highlighting human rights concerns over civilian casualties in the airstrikes.

The tensions are escalating as relations between Kabul and Islamabad have grown increasingly strained over security issues and the movement of militants along the Durand Line. Pakistan accuses the Taliban government of failing to act against armed groups using Afghan soil to launch attacks on Pakistani targets.

The Taliban government, for its part, has denied these accusations and has condemned Pakistan's attacks on Afghan territory as a violation of national sovereignty. This complex situation has raised fears of further instability in the region and greater danger for the civilian population.

In his concluding remarks, Sami Sadat reiterated that Afghanistan must become a country free from terrorism. "Those who shelter terrorists must be held accountable," he declared, calling for a lasting solution to the problem of armed groups in the region.
