The release of the spy comedy "Udta Teer," starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been postponed from its original October 9 date. The filmmakers announced that the movie will now arrive in theatres on October 23, 2026. This decision was made to avoid a box office clash with the highly anticipated "Drishyam 3," starring Ajay Devgn.

In an official statement, the makers of "Udta Teer" explained that the delay gives the film a "cleaner release window and a stronger theatrical runway instead of compromising on screens in a suddenly crowded marketplace." This strategic move comes as "Drishyam 3," which recently hit theatres, is generating significant buzz.

The story of "Udta Teer" follows a Pakistani spy named Bilal Ahmed (played by Ayushmann Khurrana) who loses his memory during a mission in India. He remembers the concept of "desh bhakti" (patriotism) but forgets his true nationality, believing he is Indian. The confusion surrounding his identity and loyalties drives the film's comedic plot.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the decision, writing on X, "A smart, sensible move!" Netizens also lauded the postponement. One user commented, "Very good decision, it's good for Drishyam 3 also. Drishyam 3 deserves a clean run and Udta Teer has also 2-weeks run until Ramayana arrives."

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, the film marks the second collaboration between Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan after "Pati Patni Aur Woh Do." The cast also includes Rahul Bose, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Gulshan Grover, and it will be the final screen appearance of the late actor Mukul Dev.
