Police in Nigeria reported that at least five worshippers were killed in a suicide bombing at a mosque in Maiduguri.
The tragic incident occurred as people gathered for evening prayers, causing panic and devastation in the local community.
The blast also left 35 people injured, with some reported to be in critical condition.
The attack took place in Borno State, a region that has suffered from significant violence and instability due to the presence of armed groups over the past decade.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but security concerns are rising in northeastern Nigeria.
Islamist groups, including Boko Haram, have been active in the area for the last 15 years, frequently targeting civilians and religious sites in their campaign of violence.
