Faisal Karim Kundi, the appointed Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has stated that establishing peace and security in the province is his main priority and that he has prepared a special financial package to support the families of police personnel who have been killed.
Mr. Kundi said that significant progress has been made in implementing this package over the last 48 hours. According to the plan, compensation for the families of slain police officers will be increased, more financial aid will be provided to the injured, and direct cash grants will be given to the heirs of victims instead of residential land plots.
He added that special assistance for the weddings of fallen officers' daughters and educational facilities for their children will also be provided.
The KP Governor thanked the provincial police chief, the chief secretary of the province, and other relevant officials for their efforts. He said that while the sacrifices of the fallen police cannot be repaid, caring for their families is a collective responsibility.
These measures are being announced as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has faced a wave of attacks from militant groups in recent years, particularly the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in which hundreds of security personnel have been killed and injured.
Supporting security forces and their families is seen as a key way to boost their morale in the fight against terrorism and to ensure security in the volatile region.
