Afghan U-19 cricket team loses to India by 4 wickets

The Afghan U-19 cricket team lost to India by 4 wickets in a match played at the Johannesburg stadium on Saturday.

India won the toss and elected to field first. Afghanistan scored 198 runs in 48.2 overs before being bowled out.

Sahil Khan was the top scorer for Afghanistan with 71 runs. Three Afghan players, Wafiullah Tarkhil, Noman Shah, and Rahimullah Zarmey, were dismissed for a duck in the first over.

Samy Pandey was the star of the show for India, taking 6 wickets for 30 runs.

In the second innings, India scored 202 runs in 36.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, winning the match by 4 wickets The defeat is a setback for the Afghan team, which is looking to qualify for the 2024 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. The team will next play against Zimbabwe on Monday.
