Arrest of two Afghan citizens on charges of collaborating with ISIS in Germany
The German police have arrested two Afghan compatriots on the charge of planning an attack on the police and ordinary people near the Swedish parliament.
According to the police, these two people were assigned by the Khorasan branch of the ISIS terrorist group to carry out this attack in response to the burning of the Quran in Sweden and other countries.
Authorities in Germany have arrested Ibrahim and Ramin based on a warrant from the mayor of the city of Gera in the state of Thuringia. Ibrahim as a member and supporter of ISIS and Ramin is accused of supporting this terrorist group.
These two Afghans have supported the ideology of ISIS since 2023, and Ibrahim has joined the Khorasan branch of ISIS in Germany since August. According to the police, the ISIS group had assigned Ibrahim to carry out an attack in Europe in response to the movement of burning the Quran in Sweden, and this attack should lead to the killing of people in the grounds of the Swedish Parliament.
The police have announced that the two suspects coordinated with ISIS officials in the preparations for the attack, and had searched the area surrounding the Swedish Parliament on the Internet and made unsuccessful attempts to purchase weapons.
Also, the German police have announced that Ibrahim, in cooperation with Ramin, collected about two thousand euros for the ISIS group and sent it to northern Syria.
