Announcing this year’s Hajj quota for Afghanistan and imposing an additional fee for Shia pilgrims

In an official announcement, the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments of the Taliban announced on Tuesday that the Hajj quota for Afghanistan in 1403 is 30,000 people.

The Minister of Hajj and Awqaf of the Taliban, Noor Muhammad Saqib, announced in this press conference that the cost of each pilgrim is 3,865 dollars and Shia pilgrims must pay 50 dollars more, but he did not explain the reason for the increase in the cost for Shiites.

He emphasized that this quota has been distributed transparently and fairly among applicants across the country. Also, a part of quota C is allocated to office employees, families of martyrs, disabled and immigrants.

The Ministry of Hajj and Awqaf has mentioned in this statement that for the transportation of pilgrims, contracts have been made with Ariana Afghan, Comair and Emirates airlines.

Also, Saqib announced that a Taliban delegation has been sent to Saudi Arabia to manage the Afghan Hajj caravan.
