Afghan Migrants Face Long Queues for Smart Cards in Tehran
An Afghan migrant living in Iran has sent a video to media outlets showing a large crowd of Afghan migrants standing in line in front of the Office of Sponsorship and Foreign Nationals Affairs in the Kahrizak area of Tehran.
According to this individual, Afghan migrants are forced to wait for hours in front of this office and even spend the night there in order to receive their smart cards.
The video highlights the difficulties and challenges faced by Afghan migrants in Iran. Many of them encounter bureaucratic hurdles and long queues to obtain legal documents and access essential services.
Iranian authorities have not yet commented on this video or the situation regarding the issuance of smart cards for Afghan migrants. However, this issue once again underscores the need to improve conditions and facilitate legal processes for the significant population of Afghan migrants in Iran.
