Taliban Bans Filming and Photography in Takhar Province

طالبان فیلم‌برداری و عکاسی را در ولایت تخار ممنوع کرد

In a recent development, sources in Takhar province have informed Afghanistan International that the Taliban has issued a directive prohibiting journalists from filming and taking photographs. This order, reportedly issued by the Taliban’s Department for the Promotion of Virtue in Takhar, has significantly impacted local reporters’ ability to carry out their work.

Local journalists in Takhar have expressed their concerns to Afghanistan International, stating that these restrictions have made news reporting increasingly challenging. This move comes on the heels of the Taliban’s recent ban on live broadcasts of political programs on domestic media outlets.

The Taliban has warned media organizations that failure to comply with these orders will result in legal action against media officials and other staff members. Previously, Mullah Shirin, the Taliban governor of Kandahar, had instructed government offices and residents to refrain from taking pictures or videos of living beings.
