Musk Summoned to Court Over $1M Election Petition Rewards
A Philadelphia judge has summoned Elon Musk to court over allegations of running an “illegal lottery” through his $1 million daily rewards to petition signers in swing states. The lawsuit, filed by Philadelphia prosecutors, claims Musk and his political action committee are attempting to influence voters in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
The first million-dollar check was awarded to a Pennsylvania resident named Dreher on October 19th. Musk’s initiative promises daily rewards until November 6th (Election Day) to those who sign a petition supporting free speech and gun ownership rights in swing states.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has reported receiving antisemitic attacks on social media from Musk’s supporters following the lawsuit filing. In response, attorneys have requested increased security measures for the emergency court hearing scheduled for Thursday.
