Local sources in Baghlan province have reported the breaking of a natural reservoir in Pul-e-Hisar district.
The reservoir, located in the highlands of “Taghanak” and “Darisho” mountains, has ruptured, sending water rushing toward lowland and residential areas.
Video footage sent from the area shows a mudslide flowing through “Taghanak” village, destroying trees and homes in its path. This incident has caused significant damage to local residents’ properties and livelihoods.
Local residents have warned that given the current conditions, the possibility of further flooding and rising water levels in the riverbed is very serious. No reports of casualties from this incident have been published so far.
