The United States House of Representatives approved a bill titled “No Tax Dollars for Terrorists” on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, which halts cash transfers to the Taliban group.

Timothy Burchett, Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, announced the bill’s passage in a post on his X account.

The bill, which was previously introduced in January of last year, requires the US Department of State to develop and implement a strategy to prevent financial and material support for the Taliban from foreign countries and non-governmental organizations.

Previously, Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, emphasized that US taxpayer money should never be given to “terrorist Taliban.

” One US House member had also revealed that the United States was still providing approximately $40 million weekly to the Taliban group.
