The Afghanistan Freedom Front has expressed concern over the one-sided upcoming Doha meeting about Afghanistan.
This anti-Taliban front declared that the Taliban’s “gender apartheid regime” does not deserve engagement, normalization, legitimization, or recognition.
In a Tuesday statement, the front asserted that the Taliban cannot be reformed through dialogue and engagement.
They welcomed statements from UN representatives condemning the organized discrimination in Afghanistan under Taliban control.
This military front warned that the one-sided invitation of the Taliban to the Doha meeting on June 29-30 is unacceptable because this group does not have the authority to represent the people of Afghanistan.
The Freedom Front called on the UN and the international community to abandon their “Taliban-centered approach” and instead begin dialogue with representatives of political parties, civil society, ethnic groups, women, and other stakeholders in the Afghanistan issue.
The front emphasized that normalizing relations with the Taliban contradicts the values of the UN Charter and international human rights documents.
