The Freedom Front has announced in a statement that it attacked Taliban patrol vehicles in Kunduz last night (Thursday, June 25, 2025).

According to the statement, the attack occurred at 8:15 PM in Imam Sahib port, within the jurisdiction of the sixth district of Kunduz city.

The front claims that in this operation, two Taliban forces were killed and another one was wounded. The Freedom Front also asserts that none of their forces were harmed in the attack.

The Freedom Front’s attacks in recent weeks have been concentrated on Kunduz city, and these attacks occur while the Taliban denies even the existence of such resistance groups.

Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, had stated in an interview with a domestic media outlet that in the first and second years of the group’s rule over Afghanistan, there were groups that had been “replaced” from the era of the “corrupt republic” and were supported from various addresses, including Europe; but now they have been contained.

He emphasized that currently in Afghanistan, “no group or individual” [armed opposition to the Taliban] has a physical presence.
