Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with Mirwais Azizi, CEO of Azizi Energy Group, on Thursday, August 26, 2025.
During this meeting, Azizi presented a progress report on the 10,000-megawatt power generation project and announced that technical teams have been deployed to Baghlan, Balkh, Jowzjan, Herat, and Bamyan provinces.
The 10,000-megawatt power generation project is divided into three phases, with the first phase having a production capacity of 4,000 megawatts.
According to Azizi Energy Group officials, practical work on the first phase projects will soon begin with cooperation from relevant ministries and departments.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and ministry officials assured full cooperation in meeting the mentioned requirements.
At the end of this meeting, a joint committee was established comprising representatives from ministries, relevant departments, and Azizi Energy Group to monitor and oversee the 10,000-megawatt power generation projects and regularly share reports with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
