Researchers at the University of Turku in Finland discovered that artificial intelligence can detect and interpret social features between people from images and videos almost as reliably as humans.
In this study, the ChatGPT language model evaluated 138 different social features from videos and pictures.
Results showed that evaluations provided by ChatGPT were very close to those made by humans.
AI’s evaluations were even more consistent than those made by a single person. Researchers compared AI evaluations with more than 2,000 similar human evaluations conducted in September 2025.
This breakthrough could have applications in various fields including healthcare, marketing, and neuroscience research.
AI could help doctors and nurses monitor patient well-being and assist in analyzing audiovisual marketing feedback.
The technology offers 24/7 monitoring capabilities without human fatigue limitations.
