Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently revealed he initially refused to become a film producer after witnessing his father Tahir Hussain’s struggles in the industry.
The actor made this confession during his appearance on Komal Nahta’s Game Changers podcast.
Khan explained that watching his father’s career firsthand made him realize the immense challenges producers face.
“You put in the most effort, take all the risks, invest your own money, and end up taking all the flak,” he said He mentioned how his father’s film Locket took eight years to complete, which further discouraged him from pursuing production.
Despite his initial reluctance, Khan eventually became a producer in 2001 with Lagaan and went on to back successful projects like Dangal and Taare Zameen Par.
His recent film Sitaare Zameen Par grossed ₹263.42 crore globally, proving his production instincts were ultimately sound.
