Sirajuddin Haqqani, Taliban’s Interior Minister, criticized some members of the group who, according to him, played no role in the war but attribute the honor of victory and return to power to themselves.
He also expressed dissatisfaction with the neglect and disregard for the sacrifices of the group’s forces.
Haqqani stated on Tuesday, October 13th, at a meeting in Paktika province that he sees in media and gatherings that some individuals with grand claims register victory in their own names.
He asked these individuals to refrain from such statements and not ignore the sacrifices and struggles of the group’s forces.
Sources say that Sirajuddin Haqqani’s statements are directed at the associates of Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, particularly Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the group’s Minister of Higher Education.
These statements once again highlighted internal differences among Taliban factions.
