Sergey Brin, Google’s co-founder, donated over $1.1 billion worth of Alphabet Inc. stock this week, with the majority going to Catalyst4, a nonprofit he founded in 2021 focused on central nervous system disease research and climate change solutions.
Additionally, about $90 million was given to Brin’s family foundation and $45 million to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which supports Parkinson’s disease research.
Brin, the world’s fourth richest person, has seen his net worth soar to $255.5 billion this year, boosted by Alphabet’s stock rally driven by AI advancements. He owns roughly 6% of the company and has gained $97.3 billion in 2025 so far.
These donations highlight Brin’s commitment to philanthropy in science and environmental causes amid the AI boom.
