The spokesperson for Thailand’s army announced that, following mutual accusations of ceasefire violations, Thai forces have launched airstrikes against Cambodian military positions along the disputed border.
These strikes were in response to a 3 a.m. Monday attack that killed one Thai soldier and wounded two others.
According to the Thai army, aircraft have been deployed to target military sites in several regions. Cambodia’s military stated that, after days of provocation, Thailand attacked two positions early today, but Cambodian forces did not retaliate.
This border dispute escalated into a five-day war in July 2025, ending with a ceasefire agreement brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur.
The July clashes left at least 48 dead and temporarily displaced by around 300,000 people.
