A leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Motaleb Shikder, was shot by unidentified attackers in Khulna, Bangladesh today.
The incident occurred around 11:45 AM in the Sonadanga area, adding to the simmering tensions in the country.
Shikder, who is also a labor organizer, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
According to police reports, the attackers aimed for his head, but the bullet pierced through the skin of his ear.
Locals rescued him immediately after the shooting, and law enforcement officers were deployed to the scene shortly after.
The investigation is currently ongoing to identify the culprits.
Authorities stated that Shikder is currently receiving treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
