The head of Breshna utility company announced that discussions with Turkmenistan regarding the implementation of the TAP project are progressing steadily.

Speaking at an inauguration ceremony in Herat, Abdul Bari Omar stated that delegations from both countries are working to finalize and sign the agreement soon.


The TAP project, which aims to transmit electricity from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan, is a major regional initiative.

Breshna officials hope that starting the practical work will help alleviate energy shortages in the country and generate significant transit revenue for Afghanistan.
