Prosecutors in Genoa allege the suspects diverted approximately 7 million euros, raised for humanitarian purposes, to Hamas-linked bodies.
Police seized assets worth over 8 million euros during the raids. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised the operation for uncovering the misuse of charitable funds.
The investigation was conducted in collaboration with Dutch authorities and Eurojust, highlighting cross-border efforts to track illicit financing.
