Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar has been re-released in theatres with specific changes weeks after its initial blockbuster run.

The filmmakers voluntarily approached the censor board to mute words like ‘Baloch’ and ‘intelligence’ after realizing they might be offensive to certain communities, denying rumors of government pressure.

The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, weaves a narrative around real-life terror attacks on India and features characters connected to Baloch gangs and intelligence agencies. Despite the edits, the producers confirmed that the larger meaning of the scenes remains intact for the audience.
Dhurandhar has already grossed over ₹1140 crore worldwide, making it a massive commercial success. With the sequel scheduled for release in March, the edited version aims to sustain the film’s momentum in theatres without causing further controversy.
