The National Resistance Front (NRF) has condemned the deadly suicide attack on a Shia mosque in Islamabad, asserting that regional peace remains unattainable without addressing the “source of terrorism” in Afghanistan. They described the attack as a reminder of past atrocities committed against sacred sites.

In their statement, the NRF warned that this incident serves as a wake-up call regarding the growing threat of extremism in the region. They argued that the current situation in Afghanistan provides ideological and logistical support for proxy groups, endangering religious and cultural diversity across borders.

The explosion at the Khadija al-Kubra mosque, which caused significant casualties, has drawn widespread criticism. Pakistani politicians have also voiced concerns about the resurgence of terror groups, linking the deteriorating security to failed policies regarding the Taliban and regional stability.
