Travelers arriving at Pune Airport in India are being greeted by a new high-tech assistant: a humanoid robot named “Spaceo M1.” Developed by Muks Robotics, the AI-powered bot has started an 8 to 10-day trial to assist passengers. It is stationed in the arrival terminal to help with queries ranging from cab bookings to local tourist spots.
Dr. Mukesh Bangar, the creator, states that the robot is socially interactive and can perform over 35 tasks independently. Spaceo M1 supports more than 85 languages, making it accessible to a diverse range of travelers. It can even guide passengers to gates and carry luggage, showcasing the potential of robotics in public service.
This pilot project aims to evaluate the robot’s performance in managing crowds and technical reliability. If successful, Pune Airport could see permanent deployment of these robots. Muks Robotics is also working on a bipedal version for the future, signaling a significant leap forward in integrating AI into India’s transport infrastructure.
