Devastating floods across Afghanistan have forced the closure of critical transit routes, including the main highway connecting Kabul to Herat. This sudden disruption has created severe difficulties for ordinary travelers and commercial drivers.
Local sources report that the Kabul-Kandahar route is blocked between Ghazni and Zabul provinces, while the Kandahar-Herat road is closed in Shindand district. All vehicular traffic has been completely halted since last night.
The Taliban government has not yet issued a statement regarding the reopening of these essential highways. In recent days, deadly floods have claimed dozens of Afghan lives and caused immense damage to national infrastructure.
