A student from the Uzbek language and literature department at Kabul University claims he was physically assaulted by the Taliban government's higher education minister. The young man alleges that Neda Mohammad Nadeem slapped and humiliated him for wearing a traditional Uzbek hat.

The incident reportedly occurred on campus while students were participating in a cleaning campaign wearing their cultural attire. According to the student, the minister described wearing the traditional hat as a political act and wrongly insisted that the headwear exclusively belonged to Pashtuns.

Despite explanations from professors regarding the cultural significance of the hat, Taliban officials confiscated the students' identification details. The higher education ministry has not yet issued any formal response or clarification regarding this controversial physical altercation.
