Devastating floods in Afghanistan have affected thousands of local people.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that recent floods across Afghanistan have affected over 70,000 individuals. These natural disasters have destroyed residential houses and severely restricted access to drinking water and healthcare services for many families.

Disaster management authorities under the Taliban government confirmed that the floods have left 189 dead and 250 injured across more than twenty provinces. Humanitarian organizations are currently expanding their emergency relief operations to assist the victims.

These recent floods hit while many regions in the country face weak infrastructure and a lack of relief facilities. The immediate needs of the affected population remain exceptionally high as they struggle to survive.
