Local sources report that Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban government, traveled to Helmand province alongside Sirajuddin Haqqani. During his visit, he strongly urged local officials and residents to strictly implement and obey all issued decrees.
The leader laid the foundation stone for a new mosque in the Kajaki district and delivered a speech to the attendees. He specifically emphasized the strict ban on poppy cultivation and urged the local population to maintain unity and follow official orders.
During the gathering, only one participant was permitted to speak about the severe economic challenges and water shortages. Due to a lack of alternative income sources, many farmers continue cultivating poppies, which has recently sparked verbal tensions between local residents and forces.
