British police have arrested members of an organized human smuggling network for illegally transporting twelve Afghan citizens. These individuals were successfully identified and prosecuted after a lengthy investigation by the National Crime Agency.
The smugglers used a specialized lorry equipped with hidden compartments to bring these Afghan migrants, including a young child, into the United Kingdom. Authorities stated that the migrants were concealed in the back of the vehicle under extremely dangerous conditions.
Two British men led this criminal network and collected huge sums of money from the vulnerable migrants. The UK prosecution service confirmed that some suspects have pleaded guilty, and the legal proceedings for others are still ongoing in court.
