Police in Uganda have reported that twenty four students lost their lives after a school bus overturned in the eastern part of the country. At least twenty three other students sustained severe injuries in this heartbreaking traffic accident.
The tragic incident occurred while the students were returning home from an educational field trip to the Sipi Falls. Security officials stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and crashed into a large rock before overturning.
In response to the tragedy, the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports has suspended all school educational trips until further notice. The government plans to implement strict new road safety regulations to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
