The UN humanitarian coordination agency, OCHA, reported a fifty percent increase in restrictions imposed by the Taliban government on aid activities during June. These challenges forced the temporary suspension of twenty-one vital humanitarian operations across Afghanistan.
The agency recorded sixty access incidents, with the western and southern regions facing the most disruptions. The main obstacles included interference in operations, violence against staff resulting in fourteen detentions, strict dress codes, and bans on female aid workers.
Humanitarian organizations continue to struggle with both severe funding shortages and strict operational barriers. Out of the monthly target to reach over one million people, only about one hundred and twenty-seven thousand individuals received life-saving assistance during this period.
