Intelligence forces of the Taliban government have arrested Mehrullah Shirzad, a journalist working for Noor TV, in the Dara district of Panjshir province. Local sources report that the arrest was sudden.
According to reports, the journalist's uncle was also detained simultaneously by the security forces. Their current whereabouts remain undisclosed, leaving their families in a state of deep concern and distress.
Sources attribute the arrest to Shirzad's collaboration with independent media outlets. However, officials from the Taliban government have not commented on the incident, amidst growing concerns over increasing pressure on Afghan journalists.
