Local sources have confirmed that a neighborhood representative, known as a Wakil-e-Gozar, was assassinated in an armed attack in Maymana city, Faryab province. The tragic incident also left his brother severely injured with gunshot wounds.
The attack took place late Wednesday afternoon in the first district of Maymana. According to witnesses, two unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the victims before quickly escaping from the crowded area.
