Despite widespread unemployment following the Taliban's return to power, a number of young people in Bamiyan have launched small businesses with limited capital. Ali Reza opened a dental clinic and now sees five to ten patients daily, supporting his family through this work.
Mohammad Hussain, a 2023 graduate of Bamiyan University, launched a pharmacy and an AI center in central Bamiyan four months ago. Homayoun partnered with a doctor to open a dental clinic and has been working there for seven to eight months.
Bamiyan's youth emphasize that supporting small businesses can create more job opportunities and reduce unemployment among young people in the region.
