Residents of Khas Uruzgan district say repeated droughts and drinking water shortages have severely damaged agriculture and livestock. Groundwater levels have dropped to over 200 meters, leaving many old wells dry and forcing people to travel long distances for water.

Farmer Abdul Salam says most of their lands are now barren, rainfall has declined, and natural pests destroy remaining crops. Lack of clean drinking water has led to rising kidney disease, stomach problems, and even cancer cases in the area.

Residents are calling on the Taliban government, aid organizations, and international bodies to urgently build dams, drill deep wells, and implement rainwater storage projects to address the worsening crisis.
