The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that Canada contributed 1.3 million Canadian dollars to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
OCHA expressed gratitude to the Canadian government, noting that the contribution will assist humanitarian partners in reaching the most vulnerable people across Afghanistan.
According to OCHA, 21.9 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance this year. However, aid organizations face severe funding shortfalls, with less than one-third of required funds secured.
