The Afghanistan U-19 national cricket team will travel to Oman next week to play seven one-day matches against the teams from Bangladesh and Oman. These games are part of the team's preparation for the 2026 Men's U-19 Asia Cup.
According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), the team is scheduled to depart for Oman on October 10. Afghanistan will first face the Bangladesh U-19 team in a five-match series. These matches will be held on October 13, 15, 18, 20, and 23 at the Oman Cricket Academy ground.
Following the series against Bangladesh, the young Afghan national players will play two more one-day matches against the host team, Oman. These two games are scheduled for October 27 and 30 at the same venue.
The ACB stated that the purpose of these matches is to prepare the young players for the important U-19 Asia Cup tournament, which is set to begin in early November of this year. This tournament will be a key opportunity to showcase Afghanistan's emerging cricket talent.
The Cricket Board has also announced the squad for this tour. Sohail Khan has been named as the team captain. The other members of the squad are: Farid Zadran, Subhan Ali, Numan Salarzai, Faisal Mubarez, Tahir Sarwari, Abidullah Abid, Hamza Alikhil, Amir Hamza, Sami Mubarez, Mohammad Ali, Lutfullah, Abdullah Hamdard, Imran Mohammadi, and Noor Ali Niazi.
