Turkey has strongly condemned the renewed attack by Yemen's Houthis on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and has called for an immediate halt to such attacks. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and described the attack as a clear violation of international law.

According to Al Jazeera, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced early on Monday, October 12: "These attacks, which deliberately target civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians, constitute a clear violation of international law and the principles of international humanitarian law."

Ankara's statement added that such attacks threaten the security and stability of the region and "must be stopped immediately." Turkey also emphasized its firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.

This strong reaction from Turkey comes as the country maintains close relations with Saudi Arabia. In August of this year, the two countries, along with Pakistan, signed a trilateral defense pact under which an attack on any of the three is considered an attack on all.

This defense pact, signed in Riyadh, signifies a deepening of strategic cooperation between Ankara, Riyadh, and Islamabad in the face of common regional threats. Turkey's decisive condemnation of the Houthi attack can also be viewed within the framework of these commitments.

The recent attack on Riyadh's airport, which resulted in the death of a Pakistani citizen and injured 11 others, has triggered a wave of international condemnation. However, the Houthis continue to insist on carrying out attacks on Saudi targets, calling them a response to Saudi Arabia's military interventions in Yemen.
