The Al Jazeera news network has reported that Egypt's Al-Azhar religious institution has called for the formation of an emergency mediation committee to put an end to wars and violence in the Middle East.

This call comes at a time when violence has significantly escalated in Yemen and Saudi Arabia in recent days. This rise in tensions has sparked serious concerns at the regional and global levels.

According to Al Jazeera, an airstrike in Yemen's Saada province on Sunday resulted in the deaths of nine people, including five children and two women, with another 19 people injured. This attack was one of the deadliest in the country in recent times.

On the other hand, in Saudi Arabia's Najran province, a shell fired by the Houthis injured six people. These retaliatory attacks have intensified the cycle of violence in the region.

As one of the most important religious centers in the Islamic world, Al-Azhar plays a significant role in promoting peace and dialogue. The institution has expressed hope that the formation of this committee will ing the warring parties back to the negotiating table to find a peaceful solution to the existing crises.

The religious body has called on all Islamic countries and international organizations to support this initiative and strive for its success. According to Al-Azhar, the continuation of war and bloodshed in the Middle East benefits no one and only leads to further destruction.

As of now, no official reaction to Al-Azhar's call has been reported from the parties involved in the conflict in Yemen or other countries in the region.
